Last week, alongside the announcement of their partnership, Gucci and adidas walked down the runway together at Milan Fashion Week. And underfoot their Trefoil-branded tailoring, the two’s collaborative take on the Gazelle glided by in six different colorways.
Rather than integrate elements from existing Gucci footwear, the capsule opts to pay respect to one of adidas’ most time-honored silhouettes. Branding is surprisingly light, with the fashion house’s name appearing just along the heel tab and the side of the gum sole. And in both palette and materials, the pairs are extremely diverse, offering a premium assortment of suede, velvet, leather, and even snakeskin.
While most of the colorways are subtle in their nod to the Gucci aesthetic, a few are quite overt. One pair in particular even features the beloved Gucci monogram, while another incorporates the red, green, and white combination that has become signature to the luxury label.
